About Nate

BS, CLC

Nate Johansen

My first degree was a BA in Business and for 20 years I worked in finance and sales management. During this time I found my passion for speaking and coaching individuals on a “life” level rather than just a professional level. Although I enjoyed my career, I wanted to give back in a way that felt more meaningful to me. So I decided to shift careers.

I am licensed in Utah and support clients, both online and in person. After graduating from Lamar University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I began speaking, coaching, and practicing therapy full-time.

I now give back in multiple ways. Along with Steven Shields, I founded Accepted, a collection of exclusively trained experiential guides. At Accepted, we lead individuals, families, groups, and corporations to maximize their health and connection. Through speaking, workshops, therapy, and coaching. Accepted connects hearts and minds to build skills for lasting and real change.

I am also on the board of three non-profit organizations (Unashamed Unafraid, A Warrior Heart, and the Heart of a Woman) and am directly involved in their causes.

"Nate has the unique ability to connect my head and my heart. It is not talk therapy. It is not beat-around-the-bush therapy. It is roll up your sleeves and face your issues/demons/problems/whatever you want to call it, coaching. If you want real results = real healing, Nate is your guy.”

I could not have asked for a better coach, he was able to accomplish what other therapists have missed in deep healing, and self direction. I would recommend him to everyone, especially those struggling with trauma or situations pertaining to relationships, past or current.”

The biggest difference to me is his 'hands-off-the-wheel-butstillguidingyou' approach. He doesn't show up to our sessions with preconceptions or theories about where I'm at or what might be good for me; he checks in with me, checks up ON me, and lets me steer the boat, helping me shine light on areas I might otherwise miss and giving the appropriate type and level of feedback.
